COPYEDITING
Copyediting includes checking for grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, consistency of usage, and more. I can help you edit and format your manuscript according to your chosen style manual or a specified journal’s style.
Copyediting is typically done with tracked changes in Microsoft Word. I can also work in Google Docs, and I can edit LaTeX files with Overleaf.
PROOFREADING
Proofreading is the final check of a written work in layout before publication. I provide a meticulous review to identify last-minute typos and layout problems.
Proofreading is typically done in Adobe Acrobat, using the client’s desired method of PDF markup.
REFERENCES
I’m adept at editing reference lists and tracking down obscure citations. If you need references converted from one style to another, I’ll be glad to help.
I have expert-level knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style, American Medical Association (AMA) style, Associated Press (AP) style, American Psychological Association (APA) style, Modern Language Association (MLA) style, and numerous clients’ house styles.
